Jeff Siemssen is a native New Orleanian. He attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a Degree in Construction Management under the College of Engineering with a minor in Business. During his time in Baton Rouge, Jeff worked for various construction companies to help pay his way through college. However, ultimately, Jeff decided he was better suited to operate in the construction industry as an attorney. As a result, Jeff went on to study law at Loyola University in New Orleans, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in the Civil Law Division.
Since 2008, Mr. Siemssen has primarily focused his practice on construction law and has represented owners, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. His representation ranges from contract negotiations to litigation, arbitration, and mediation. In addition, he is well versed in Louisiana lien laws under the Private and Public Works Acts. As for construction disputes, Jeff has successfully represented his clients concerning claims involving construction defects, New Home Warranty Act, Rehibition, cost overruns, non-payments, and delays.
Over his fifteen plus years of practicing law, Jeff also has extensive experience in representing business owners in creating, forming, expanding, and selling their companies. This includes drafting operating agreements, employee contracts, franchise agreements, and negotiating and drafting mergers and acquisitions.
During his career, Jeff has assisted homeowners regarding property disputes. These disputes include, but are not limited to, boundary lines, acquisitive prescription, trees, encroachments, and servitudes. Jeff has also assisted clients in drafting and negotiating commercial and residential leases.
In addition to the foregoing experience, Jeff has successfully represented clients in general personal injury claims, property damage claims, and estate planning under Louisiana law.
Jeff is married to Jill Heigle Siemssen and they have four young children. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family by fishing, traveling, attending his kids’ sporting events, and cheering on the LSU tigers.
