Bret Guepet’s practice focuses on construction disputes and property damage. He assists construction clients with the preparation of construction related agreements, and recording liens under the Private Works Act and Public Works Act. He prosecutes and defends New Home Warranty Act claims and claims in redhibition for the return or reduction of the purchase price of real estate.
Mr. Guepet handles personal injury claims, including automobile and truck accidents, slip and falls and premises liability.
Mr. Guepet is also retained by a number of condominium and homeowners associations in filing liens, collecting back due fees and assessments and revising and interpreting declarations and bylaws. He also handles real estate litigation, including breaches of purchase agreements and sale agreements.
While most of Mr. Guepet’s practice is devoted to litigation, he often advises business clients regarding business contracts and assists businesses through their early stages of formation and beyond.
Mr. Guepet earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He then attended the LSU Law Center, where he received his Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana District Courts Appellate Courts and United States Eastern District.
